Yorkwoods Community Church

On September 3, we partnered with God's Strength Ministries to distibute food to the community. God's Strength Ministy, through a network of volunteers is able to resuce food that would otherwise end up in the landfill. We were grateful to partner with them to help distribute the food to the jane/finch community. 114 people received many bags full of food. The food donated consisted of a variety of bread, cereal, pasta, hot dogs, vegies, fruit, baked goods, and many other items. We hope to be able to partner with them again. Last week, 34 young people enjoyed 3 days of fun sponsored by our partner organization "WeTogther" and the "Holy One Community Church". There were lots of laughter, fun, games, singing, and Bible stories. The Theme was "Living In God's Love and Promises". They learned about David as a shepherd boy and how Jesus is our good shepherd, who loves us, know us and looks after us. We hope everyone comes back again next year for another fun filled few days!

11 young people participated in "Musical" day camp where they learned acting skills as they prepared to present a drama. The end product was really good. Parents and others were impressed by the quality of the performance after only 4 days of practice. We hope that many more young people will join us next year for the camp!
